Activities with children in winter: Family trips in the nature

The winter cold doesn't change the fact that children and parents need exercise in the fresh air to stay healthy. Even in bad weather, the family should take at least one walk every day. Sometimes the weather is nice, dry and sunny even in winter. Then you and the kids can dress warmly for an outing that lasts several hours.

Here are 4 ideas for a trip into nature in winter:

  • Visit an animal park. These parks are usually open year-round, but there are far fewer visitors in the winter. This makes the zoo atmosphere charming and quiet. Sometimes animal parks offer special activities for children in winter, where they can learn, for example, how animals survive in winter.

  • Take a walk in the forest. It has long been known that forests have positive effects on the immune system and mood. Let your children explore the forest and let off steam, this outing will be a lot of fun for them.

  • Go sliding on snow. It snowed and everything is white? Wonderful! Off to the warm clothes, got the sled and off we went. Even short walks are fun with snow and sleds. A special highlight is the toboggan hill. Whether big or small plays less of a role.

  • Evening hike with torches. In the winter, it gets dark early so you can take an evening hike. Most kids find it exciting to be outside after dark, even though it's actually only 6 pm. You can take flashlights or glow-in-the-dark lights with you wherever you go. Therefore, a night walk can be a real adventure for children
